Sound on! I have taken a new spy video of the extreme offroad focused Land Rover Defender SVX during some hot laps on the Nürburgring.
Thanks to a flexible architecture it is possible to bring an even more offroad focused devision termed Defender SVX. The Defender SVX will be more extreme, wider and powerful than the current Defender. Something between a Ford Bronco Raptor and a Mercedes AMG G4x4².
A closer look to this V8 powered test mule reveals wider wheel cases filled with offroad focused BF-Goodrich tires. Even the spare wheel on this Defender SVX is a BF-Goodrich off-road tyre. Plus these additional protective flaps to protect against stone chips, as you know them from rally cars. The bonnet is also anything but lightweight and also speaks for an off-road vehicle rather than a sporty SUV.
The SVX name isn’t new for Land Rover, because the SVO group has three devisions: an offroad focused division SVX, a luxury division called SVAutobiography, and finally a performance devision labelled SVR. A Land Rover Discovery SVX was ultimately killed off before it made into production.
