RCN #2 2021 – Onboard Ford Fiesta ST – 8:30 min Full Lap
Last weekend I had the opportunity to do my first real race ever, driving the Ford Fiesta ST from Buttler-Pal Motorsport in the RCN on the Nordschleife!
It was such a great experience, perfect weather, nice people around and the car felt great. Despite being on used tyres, I could quickly gain a lot of trust in the car and was able to do a time of 8:30 min (full lap) on my 4th Sprint Lap, which I’m very happy with! The start of the lap was a bit sloppy, as I braked a tiny bit too late for T13 and the ABS wouldn’t stop intervening. I am pretty happy with the rest of the lap, as very little traffic was ahead.
I’ve been part of Buttler-Pal Motorsport’s Sim Racing Team for more than a year now. From the beginning our goal was to go from Sim Racing to Real Racing to show that the experience from the simulation helps a lot for the real thing, which I think we are able to prove.
Thanks to Rene Buttler for trusting me to drive his car, and big thanks to Peter Bonk Performance for the support at the track!
